Don’t be afraid of conflict.

Conflict and tension is a must in teams, it’s needed to progress a team through to effectiveness.

To harness the power of conflict and tension, you need to find ways of resolving them, not simply sweeping them under the carpet. What conflict is after all, is a difference in opinion, a difference in view. And there is a lot to learn for everyone in considering a different viewpoint. By viewing conflict that way, and insisting of respectful behaviours between people, you can de-dramatize these diferences and focus team members’ attention towards solutions. And get new ideas and insights in the process.
